Shaping Your Impact
Emotional Intelligence
Getting along with others is the key to getting the best out of people and driving higher productivity and collaboration. Who is in control over how you impact people – you are!
Self Awareness & Self Control
When you know your strengths you can leverage them to obtain a multiplier effect in all your relationships. When you know your weaknesses you are in a stronger position to ensure self-management and a consistent impact on others.
Confidence to engage and lead people
Emotionally Intelligent leaders know how to ensure their needs are met as they manage people while maintaining the health of each relationship.
Stronger internal and external relationships
Relationships that are managed well ensure higher productivity, collaboration and discretionary effort, and all with a lot less stress.
Positive mindset & achievement oriented thinking
- Are you/others clear and confident in how to articulate needs in a manner that doesn’t turn people off?
- Do some of your people understand ways to improve things but are sometimes ignored?
- Is there a morale and motivation problem in your work-place? Is staff turnover high in particular teams?
- Do people avoid honest conversations?
Organisations that seek to build skills often focus on a number of development courses which cover a range of operational and technical skills. The development of “personal skills” recognises that existing operational and technical abilities do not necessarily equip individuals to be effective. An Emotionally Intelligent workforce has high levels of self awareness and awareness of others as well as the ability to manage and regulate their own behaviour. A combination of these “emotional intelligence” factors enables people to create a work environment where everyone performs at their best.
We teach, train and coach Emotional Intelligence to provide your people with a set of practical relationship management tools and techniques that produce tangible and measurable results.
Our Process
Step 1
Observation
What are the differing perceptions people have of their managers and of each other and how is that playing out at work? What development do people need to improve their EI? Together we seek to pinpoint where the EI issues are in the business.
Step 2
360 Survey (optional)
We undertake a 360 survey of managers/leaders incorporating responses from managers, reports, peers and colleagues.
Step 3
1on1 Debrief
Private and professionally privileged conversations are held to debrief the 360 Surveys and develop a practical action plan for self development
Step 4
EI Training
Having worked through the underlying issues, training in some or all of the 12 competencies that make up for an emotionally intelligent leader is undertaken. Often in class room format with practical exercises and tools to immediately go back to teams confident in changing relationship dynamics
Step 5
Coaching
Follow up team and/or individual coaching deeply embeds the learning changes.
